St Veronus cafe & Tap Room :: Belgian Beer Temple

WELCOME....

Arguably the world's premier beer-producing country, Belgium boasts over one hundred commercial breweries that make an astounding array of unique and highly sought-after beers. From the famous Stella Artois Lager to complex Monastery-brewed Trappist ales whose roots can be traced to the 12th and 13th centuries. Regional diversity is the cornerstone of Belgian brewing with certain styles and sub-styles of beer being produced only within the confines of small geographical regions - Lambic production within approxiamately a ten-mile radius of Brussels, for example. Strong on tradition and taste, beer is to the Belgians what wine is to the French.

Consumers everywhere are demanding ever higher quality in food, drink and atmosphere. They are finding it increasingly in Belgian cuisine and specialty beers which are gaining major recognition worldwide. Belgian cuisine is loosely related to French cuisine in terms of preparation methods and appreciation for the culinary skills required to produce these dishes. Belgium being such a compact country however, sources ingredients for many recipes locally, resulting in a rich variety of regional dishes from Seafood Chowder in Ostend to Ardennes Pâte. Belgium is the only country where McDonald's regularly loses money, because Belgians have created a food culture which perpetuates the demand for, and appreciation of a wide variety of high quality food and drink available both at home and in restaurants and bars.

With this philosophy in mind, we at St. Veronus offer something out-of-the-ordinary in a unique environment with professional service and consistently high-quality, authentic Belgian cuisine and drinks.
